science-softCon uv/vis+ spectra data base; www.uv-spectra.de, (C) science-softCon 2011 Substance: acetone Other Names: 2-propanone Formula: CH3COCH3 CAS-No.: 67-64-1 Study: absorption spectrum Authors: A.B.F. Duncan Title: The absorption spectrum of acetone vapor in the far ultraviolet Journal/Source: J. Chem. Phys., 3, 131-132, (1935); doi:10.1063/1.1749617 Data: (diagram, table, disk): table Energy/Wavelength range: 85 - 130 nm Resolution: Temperature: Temperature dependence: Pressure/Concentration: 0.0025 - 0.15 Torr Phase (gas, liquid, solid): vapor Comments: The absorption spectrum of acetone has been photographed down to 850A. Discrete bands were found above 1300A but only continuous absorption between 1300 and 850A. The bands are described and a qualitative interpretation is given of the complete spectrum. The band at 65213 cm-1 is the strongest in the whole region, being clearly developed at less than 0.0025 Torr. Author to whom correspondence should be addressed: (e-mail address):
